"Remember Baghdad" is the untold story of Iraq, seen through the eyes of the Jews who lived there for 2,600 years until only a generation ago. Through vivid home movies and archival news footage, eight characters tell their remarkable stories.
We will be showing this film to mark Israel's Memorial Day for the Expulsion of Jews from Arab Lands (יום לציון היציאה והגירוש של היהודים מארצות ערב ומאיראן), which is observed every year on November 30th (the day following the adoption of the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine).
The film will be followed by a discussion with Esther Shouby, whose family fled Iraq for Israel in the 1950s.
