Guest Scholar - Natasha Mann, Shabbat May 13

On Shabbat May 13, please join us for a visit from rabbinical student Natasha Mann. Natasha will be giving a davar Torah in shul, and then teaching at a seudah in the afternoon on "Who is an 'idol worshiper'?"

Who is an 'idol worshiper', and how might that affect how Jews interact with the outside world? We will be looking at the development of our understanding of other religions, with an eye towards the complications introduced by the development of other Abrahamic religions.

The seudah will start around 6pm. For the venue, please contact Brenda, brenda.simmonds@hotmail.co.uk.

Natasha is a rabbinical student at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, and is currently in her Israel Year at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem. She is a long-time member of New London Synagogue, and has worked for three summers with Noam Summer Camp in the UK. In her free time in Israel, Natasha has been enjoying studying rabbinic texts, having adventures in the Old City, learning Arabic, and reading Marvel comics. Natasha is planning to return to the UK after ordination, and is very excited for the opportunity to get to know KNMS better!
