Do Jews Do Karma? Lunch and Learn with Philippa Gamse, Shabbat December 29

Reincarnation is a common tenet of Eastern religions, but what does Judaism have to say about it? What does it mean in a Jewish context? Does it have a purpose, and if so, what is it? We’ll look at a variety of Jewish teachings about the “journey of the soul”, how various commentators from different times in our history have understood this, and what their ideas might mean for our own lives. We’ll also leave space for personal reflections and stories of individual experience.

Philippa will bring her Limmud session on reincarnation in Jewish thought to Kol Nefesh on Shabbat December 29th so that those not going to Limmud will have a chance to hear her. Everyone's welcome.
