Mitzvah Day 2018

Mitzvah Day 2018 is on Sunday November 18th. This year we're running THREE projects:

1. The Joely Bear Appeal.... Give Blood and Save Lives! See http://www.joelybear.org.uk/

2. Winter Gear for Rough Sleepers

KN member Marc Shoffren has arranged for Alma Primary to work with Nishkam SWAT, a Sikh organisation, to collect hats, coats, gloves, socks and sleeping bags to distribute to rough sleepers in central London. Marc says, "I was inspired to get Alma involved in this project after seeing them in action in London during half term. I thought it was an amazing opportunity to do some positive work in connection with Mitzvah day and to create a connection with the Sikh community."

Items can be new or good-quality second-hand. We'll have local drop off points (in addition to Alma) in Finchley and Borehamwood. For more information, please contact Marc, mshoffren@gmail.com, or Nicola, admin@kolnefesh.org.uk.

3. The London Wildlife Trust

Please join us for some real hands-on conservation work!

We will link up with the London Wildlife Trust to carry out some work to restore grassland on Totteridge Fields.

This is your chance to personally make a difference to nature, whilst having exercise in the fresh air!

Start is 10am, finish around 2pm, but you don't have to be there for the whole time. Location is corner of Hendon Wood Lane and Totteridge Common.

Suitable for all ages, equipment and gloves will be provided, just bring yourself, friends, family and maybe something to drink and nosh to share!

Please feel free to share with your friends.

If you can come along please let Daniel know, dpreter@googlemail.com.
