Our Megillah reading this year will take place on Zoom on Thursday evening the 25th of February, starting at 7.30pm. There will be two tracks – one a traditional reading in Hebrew, the other an interactive, family-oriented reading in Hebrew and English. Everyone will first gather in the Kol Nefesh Zoom Room, here. One track will then switch to a different Zoom link (to be distributed on the night).
Note that to fulfil the halakhic obligation of hearing the megillah, one needs to hear it read from a scroll; and the reading must be heard directly, not mediated via technology. Hence, our reading will be l'zecher – in memory of – the obligation. We will be offering some of the experience of Purim, but what we do will not have the status of a halakhic recitation.
Please join us for what promises to be a fun, if unusual, Purim experience!
