Our next Green Lunch + speaker: Emma Sousa of Urban Flower Farmer, Shabbat March 30th

Emma Sousa began growing sustainable flowers on her urban cutting patch in North West London about four years ago, in order to supplement her floristry business and reduce the carbon footprint generated by the floristry industry. She teaches workshops where florists can learn how to make their business more sustainable and techniques for creating eco-friendly arrangements.

Emma began her career as a florist after studying printed textiles at university, and then working as a fashion buyer for 15 years. Now, as founder of Urban Flower Farmer, she feels privileged to be involved in so many people's special days. Emma uses British flowers whenever possible, and also uses degradable and recyclable materials and packaging whenever she can. In 2018 Urban Flower Farmer became a foam-free business, cutting out the floral foam which is such a big pollutant in the floristry industry. Her style of floristry is based on seasonal, garden-style flowers, a little bit wild, always beautiful. Each piece is different and unique.

Emma will chat to us and answer questions about her business over one of our fabulous eco-friendly, locally sourced lunches produced by our Green Team!
